“The blessing scam is a confidence trick, often targeting elderly Chinese women, where fraudsters claim to offer spiritual healing or protection against curses. Scammers manipulate victims into placing cash and jewelry into a bag for a “blessing,” then swap it for an identical bag filled with worthless items. Victims are instructed not to open the bag for days or weeks to ensure the blessing works.”
